Born and raised in the beautiful country of Nepal, I had a little different childhood than many. I spent a little more time reading about local and world politics or global economics and I don’t mean that in a bragging sense. If anything, it means I now have fewer things to talk about with my peers here – not having watched many Star Wars movies or not having played many popular video games.
I have always been fascinated with technology and enjoyed trying random things on my computer. I was not a programming or hacking wizard by any means, but I did not need games or movies or social media to keep me interested in computers. After completing my High-school in Kathmandu, I moved to the US for my undergraduate. 19 years old, moving seven thousand miles from home to start a new journey.I lived in Baltimore for four years where I completed my undergraduate in Computer Science. I later moved to Salt Lake City for work and my graduate studies at the University of Utah.
Before starting as a cloud architect here at IdeaXdesign, I worked as an application support engineer for Microsoft via Unisys. In past, I have worked as a research fellow in different research groups; IT Technical Support Staff, Tutor, and Computer Lab Admin at my previous institutions.
When I am not playing around with my computer or fiddling with Raspberry Pi or buried 12 levels deep in the Reddit comments, I enjoy watching soccer and basketball and I play a little bit of both. I probably have watched 80 to 90 percent of all Manchester United games in last decade (~60 games * 90 min * 10 years * 0.8 = 43200 minutes!!) and the majority of Golden State Warriors game in last 4 years. And this is going to sound so generic, but I love to travel ! I enjoy camping, hiking, and landscape little more than art and museum. I am little too shy to say ‘Hi’ and start talking to random people, but I do enjoy meeting new people and listening to their unique perspective. I joke around a lot with my friends but figured it can sometimes come as ‘mean’ to the ‘nice to the face’ American culture, so I hold the sarcasm back until I feel comfortable. I also like to take a lot of pictures, and sometimes, few, I think, do come pretty good (read: beginner photo enthusiast).
