Generative AI in Education from the Perspective of Students, Educators, and Administrators
Ph.D. Dissertation, Utah State University
Abstract
Doctoral dissertation investigating how generative AI tools — ChatGPT and its peers — are reshaping teaching, learning, and policy in higher education. The work synthesizes empirical studies of student usage in CS1 courses, surveys of educator awareness and sentiment, analyses of institutional AI policies, and a contextual study of classroom adoption through the lens of TAM and IDT. Together, these studies offer one of the earliest comprehensive views of generative AI in education from the three core stakeholder perspectives.
